Donations
Wal-mart uses a variety of sources to donate money to politicians, political committees and other organizations. Most of their donations come through Wal-Mart's Political Action Committee, however others come directly from the Walton Family or Wal-Mart executives. In the case of donations to specific causes, the Walton Family Foundation contributes a significant amount of money.
The Wal-Mart Stores PAC for Responsible Government is a SSF PAC, which spends money to influence federal elections. By law, Wal-Mart pays for administrative costs and handles the collection of funds. Wal-Mart may solicit funds from its corporate stockholders, executive and administrative personnel and the families of both groups.
The Walton family makes individual political donations and funds the Walton Family Foundation. The family’s great wealth allows them to influence local and national elections; legislative issues; and retail priorities.
Wal-Mart executives use their enormous wealth to contribute to individual campaigns and causes.
